Aaron, Optometrist
MOptom, BVisSc, Licensed in Ocular Therapeutics, iRo Colour Vision Certified💬 English & Vietnamese
Born in Brisbane, Aaron's lifelong fascination with glasses began in childhood. Wearing them from a young age, he was always curious by how two simple lenses could transform people's view of the world and so in Year 10 decided to pursue optometry. He graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Vision Science and a Master in Optometry with also a license in ocular therapeutics. Additionally, Aaron was elected as Media Executive within the Queensland Optometry Student Society (QOSS), overseeing and designing merchandising, create media graphics, branding initiatives etc.
During his studies, Aaron worked part-time as an optical dispenser and frame stylist at both small independent and large multinational practices which gave him valuable experience in helping a variety of different patient demographics. Within optometry he has a keen interest in paediatrics as he finds helping young patients achieve and maintain healthy vision the most rewarding aspect of his work.
Outside of work, Aaron enjoys a balance of creative and active hobbies; he loves creating artworks, folding intricate origami designs, graphic design and also being active in the gym and bouldering. Aaron is also an avid supporter of the NRL Melbourne Storms (despite his Queensland roots!) and enjoys watching their dominancy in past decades.
Give the Gift of Sight – Donate Your Old Glasses today!
- Your unused glasses can help change lives! Partnering with Lions Recycle for Sight Australia, we’re collecting pre-loved spectacles to distribute to those in need around the world. Whether they're prescription glasses, reading glasses, or sunglasses, every pair counts!
- Give your old glasses a second life and help someone see the world clearly.
- Here’s why your donation matters:
- Transform Lives Globally: Already close to 19 million pair of spectacles refurbished by the Lions Recycle for Sight Programme in Australia.
- Reach the Unreachable: Rural populations often have limited healthcare access, leading to undiagnosed and untreated vision problems. Regular eye tests can uncover these issues and ensure proper treatment.
- Support a Trusted Program: This initiative is part of the Lions Clubs International Worldwide Eyeglass Recycling Program, headquartered in Queensland and operating across Australia and overseas.
